Today's breakfast chef was Mako with his expertise in scrambling eggs. The house filled with the scent of sizzling bacon while the girls happily ate english muffins slathered in ruby red raspberry jam. We listened to Fantaisie Impromptu by Chopin at the breakfast table and read more from our Chopin book. It was a challenge to pry Evie away from The Endless Steppe. Mako spent a fair amount of time practicing for his upcoming solo certificate day, Two Grenadiers by Schumann. We had fun as I played a round of scales with him at the piano. The girls then assisted in trying a new oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe, lots of tasting. Soon it was time for Mako and Evie to head to their long ballet rehearsal. The little two and I spent the afternoon in the backyard as a misty rain shrouded everything in pale gray. The poppies saturated color is unreal, I love them. We saved an overturned bumblebee, weeded and made battle against the pussy willow. It will be a busy weekend ahead!
